"Real Power is the Power of the People"
Do you ever think there’s no one that can do it quicker or better than you?
Are you feeling like there are not enough hours in your day?
Are you able to truly empower others in your company or business?
Entrepreneurs are often times the nucleus of their company. This extraordinary gift of effort and commitment can sometimes become the road block to forward progress.
In this presentation, Shawn Moody will explain how to develop faith and trust in your employees, empower them, and let go. Because in his experience, his employees have taken him to places he NEVER dreamed possible.
At 17, while in his senior year at Gorham High School, Moody borrowed $6,000 to start an auto body repair business. As of 2014, Moody’s Collision Centers is the largest collision repair business in the Northeast, with 120 co-workers at nine locations in Maine. In 2003 the company converted to an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP), giving Moody’s workers a 34 percent financial stake in the company.
The company has also been recognized in Maine and nationally for its environmental excellence and business achievements, ranking it in the top one percent of 40,000 shops nationwide in customer service and operating performance.
Moody’s won the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Business in 2003.
In 2008, the Department of Environmental Protection recognized Moody’s as an industry leader in environmental excellence.
Moody ran as an independent candidate in the 2010 gubernatorial race. His campaign was primarily self-funded.
He lives in Gorham with his wife Chris. They have three young adults now living on their own and one still in college here in Maine.
This noon-time event at the Cumberland Club, 116 High St. in Portland provides members with the opportunity to share their business literature, all participants to provide a 15 second introduction, and for you to network and meet between 20-30 other business women.
Lunch is $20 members ($25 non-members). We love having guests and prospective members!
